TV SHOW KINDERGARTEN CLASS MURAL

Helped out my best friend Adil el Arbi. He’s a movie director and took part in a tv show. He had to perform a series of tasks and ask for help through social media. One of these tasks was to revamp a kindergarten classroom in a school in the C-Mine area of Beringen, Genk (Belgium). An old mining village with lots of Turkish, Polish and Italian flavor.

Volunteers transformed the classroom by building new walls, a big mirror and furniture. Pretty crazy. And I did a really fast mural to spice up the place, having slept only 3 hours. There was no time to repaint the green wall, so I tried to make it as fun as possible with doodles, silly characters and a reference to the mines. Met so many nice people. Unexpected adventures like these make life great.

BRUSSEL BROST ( FESTIVAL POSTER )

For Brussels music festival BRUSSEL BROST in september I made this poster. It's a big outdoor party near the river, hence the nautical theme. It features dj's like Feder, Raving George, Bobby Ewing and more.

SOUL DRAWINGS (LIVE ACT)

For my summer expo at Bar Stulp in Antwerp I experimented with a new special act. LIVE SOUL DRAWINGS, inspired by fortune teller animatronics and automaton machines. I translate your soul and who you are into a drawing coloured with watercolours. Loads of fun and because of the enthusiasm I received I’ll definitely do it again. Got to know so many interesting people and hear so many cool stories, amongst them a girl that does special effects make up in movies.

 

 

JANGOJIM SUMMER EXPO @ STULP

For my summer expo at summer pop up bar Stulp in Antwerp I created two big science fiction infused paintings ( fluorescent and gold paint, checkkkk ). Had lots of fun on those and really want to do bigger paintings.

DAS MAGAZIN (EDITORIAL ILLUSTRATIONS)

Series of editorial illustrations I did for the upcoming issue of literary magazine DAS MAGAZIN from Amsterdam. They accompany short stories by writers Nina Weijers, Max Hermens and Owen Booth. Great fun !

"VITE, CHANGE !" ( ILLUSTRATION )

For the group zine VITE by Brussels artist Dennis Mariën, who also happens to work at the Belgian Comic Strip Museum, I made these successive illustrated pages. Working around the theme "quick, change!" I was inspired by transformation and personal favorite pop culture references like Doraemon, David Cronenberg's "The Fly", Gremlins, Batman and transformer robots.

Just came back from Japan. So freaking inspired !

JANGO TOKYO SUPERMARKET ( SOLO SHOW )

I did a last minute exhibition titled JANGO TOKYO SUPERMARKET in Tokyo at creative space AMP Cafe in the Koenji neighbourhood thanks to the enthusiasm of the owner Kenji Daikoku. I had an amazing time and met so many nice Japanese creative people. Here's a video director Kouhei Nagamune made about the opening and me with a cheap Indian haircut.

I'm leaving to Japan for new adventures ! Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka here I come. This Friday I am doing a LAST MINUTE SOLO EXHIBITION at alternative art space AMP CAFE in TOKYO ! 2015 is already more than nice to me. Hope to get a selfie with Godzilla !
